O.K. fine no n00b filtering, but atleast keep the whole idea for the warning system, this way if the admins dont do there jobs, other users can atleast save the forums by warning other users...

n00b filtering as mentioned before..

by a n00b filter i mean like:

0-100 points can only do challenges.
101-200 points can do challenges and post in shoutbox
201-300 points can do challenges, post in shoutbox, and post articles.
301-400 points can do challenges, post in shoutbox, post articles, and use the forums.

I think that all people should be able to use the forums. In forums they can get some help and learn more!!!

THERE IS NO RESTRICTION ON LEARNING WHATSOEVER. They can still view the topics and reply. They just can't start topics until they reach a certain point level.

No, definatly no n00b filtering. I only have 75 points, do u see me spamming up the place? Its obvious to tell whether or not a n00b is spamming here, we just need to ban them straight away, people like that dont need any warnings. If their persistant and make another account to spam, just ban the ip.

I disagree with the noob filtering idea. Most people wouldnt take any notice of some of the threads, whereas in the whole forum everyone can contribute equally, and the threads get more attention. The only thing i would suggest we add to the forums is maybe a search box near the top of the page, so that insted of going through different things, the person could search for keywords. This would be a good idea for finding specific threads Smile

The sites brilliant now, and if we're getting an even better one, we shouldnt spoil it. Smile

Thanks

i think that the point system should be done away with. like on HTS where its all about points, you have all these n00bs posting talking about how great they are just because they have all these points. highly annoyning imo Wink

maybe instead, it could be changed to where you get access to information (articles, etc) by completing the challenges. personally, i think that would be much more rewarding then just getting some points...

also, on the topic of application challenges, would it be possible to get some *nix apps up for cracking?

the n00b filtering idea allowed information to be viewed, just not added by any n00bs.. ur idea is to not allow a n00b to view information which would never let them learn..

no, my idea is to tell the n00bs that there is info there, they just need to earn it.

hopefully that will drive them to learn more faster Wink

but it was just an idea, relax Pfft

Or, they could just give up, when they could have learnt, been interested in hacking (and by interested i dont mean "learn me 2 h4k"Wink and carried on to become a good hacker.......

Not the best idea in the world Smile

Will do...

And Xero, I wasn't attacking you, but it is kind of fucked when the admins work ed hard to make the challenges and you call them gay.

So, I will say hat I said before, the filtering is a gay idea... So what if they ask for the answers to something, just dont answer them, and we'll delete the post...

I didn't say they were lame. I said that it could be possible that an experienced hacker could think they're lame in response to somebody asking why an experienced hacker wouldn't do any challenges.

Anyways, I just thought this thread deserves a bump. Get the creative juices flowing, people!
