Gaining access to store display computers.

Gaining administrator status on a store display computer/laptop that is locked up from cd\'s being entered

Reboot the computer and while its booting up send it into safe mode. At the login screen you will notice an extra account called \"Administrator\" without the \"\". This account is usually unpassword protected and is the computers \"root\" account. It has full admin privileges. Just click that name and your in. Now the Administrator account is not available through normal boot, only Safe Mode. So what were going to do is make a new full admin privileged account. Click start, then control panel. When it opens up double click on User Accounts. You can now do 2 things. 1 make yourself an account with admin privileges or modify the original accounts password. To change the account password click the account already there then click \"Change my password\" or \"Change password\". Now type in the new password and your done. To make a new account click \"Create a new account\". Now type in all the information and make sure to leave it at Administrator privileges. Now reboot the computer and let it load normally. You will now see your newly created account click it and login, or you can login as the original account if you changed the password.

Getting into safemode on Windows 98/ME:
Reboot and hold F8.
When the Windows 98/ME startup menu appears use the arrow keys to navigate to Safe Mode and press enter.

Getting into safemode on Windows 2000:
When you see the black and white Starting Windows bar at the bottom of the screen, start tapping the F8 key.
Useing the arrow keys navigate to Safe Mode and press enter.

Getting into safemode on Windows XP:
Reboot and wait until after the main computer screen goes away (usually the computer creators logo is there like \"EMachine\" or something, sometimes its the BIOS screen also).
When this screen goes away immediatly start tapping F8.
Using the arrow keys navigate to Safe Mode and press enter.

Grin Gotta try this Pfft Only problem is, our school uses only macs Sad Do macs have a safe mode?

The Administrator account is to accessible in normal mode just reboot and if fast user switching is enabled hit Ctrl-Alt-Delet twice and enter in Administrator for the user name.

In XP not shure about older versions of windows but if you can enter in the username you should be able to access the Administrator account
