Replace Listbox text (vb .net)

There is a selected(highlighted) item in a listbox. With a button, I want to be able to replace the text of this item with some other text stored in a variable.

I also want it to be at the exact same place that the item was, the same index.

In vb .net please, i really need help on this one.
