I have found the _vt*_p**\ directory and inside it the 2 p*d files which contain some hashes. It is supposed to be standard DES but JTR is not cracking it. Also I found out a directory /us**/ where a login form is present. The Submit button in this login form does not work. Am I on the right track? I am confused as to what to do as the Bot and the various articles are telling different things.

That applause I receive from y'all on posting this post would have gotten me drunk on power if I hadn't already been high on life.

It takes less than a second. (Literally 0 seconds)
You probably missed the output, so:
john --show pwd.txt

Taking too much time. btw, I know how to crack a hash using JTR. Also, what about the login form in the /us**/ folder?

You don't even need to decrypt it, if you view the right file in the directory you were in, it basically tells you where to go.
