My PC I mentioned ages ago is now a little outdated (for the latest games). There's now better motherboards (for instance with inbuilt 5.1 surround sound and that are cheaper), there's cheaper monitors (I agree with others, buy as big as you can afford) and HDDs are cheaper.

I disagree with stopping at 250GB though. The PC I built last summer had a 250GB hdd, that quickly filled up within 8 or so months. I bought another 500GB HDD for it which is just about enough. But the reason that is enough is because I have another PC with 1.2TB of storage which is where I keep all my stuff. Even that one is now filling up (less than 400GB left on it).

Of course I'm not your normal PC person, which is why if I can afford it I aim to buy another 4 1TB drives before the end of the year, though I'll set them up in RAID5 so I'll only get 3TB space from the 4 drives.

Yeah, I'd suggest NOT buying a PSU for under $40. That's something you should definitely spend some money on... you get a cheap one, and you're risking the health of all the other parts in the PC.

Well If I were you I would wait till I had more glue!
Why waste money on inferior parts and end up with shit.
Especially the PSU that's the heart of the system if it takes a dump it's not going alone. I've seen one short and clean out damn near a whole E-Machines one time.
Wait and get something decent.

<Just a suggestion>
