I been really paranoid anytime I download something that isn't 100% confirmed clean, even if I have scanned it for viruses. The reason? Not because of my computer becoming a zombie-bot, not because I could get a virus that erases my system32 folder, not even because someone might plant a key-logger and steal my passwords, but because I'm worried about someone forcing a timer on my computer that after so many hours a nsfw image (not as in naked chicks, but as in goatsies, any fucked up image) might appear on my whole entire screen at any moment with a loud scream. You know those screamers.

I'm thinking it would be easily plausible that would open a flash file after _____ minutes included in the flash file is what the picture has and that loud noise after the file remains hidden unless user knows what he's looking for in Processes of cont+alt+del (until the time-delay is over).

Idk, anyone else have a fear like mine? Because I'm worried that i'll see it and just die of a heart attack how focused I get especially on sites like these. Also, would it be possible because I never hear people getting viruses like these (not unless it's practical joke by friend at least) :ninja:

Just a little paranoid ehh. If you aren't sure of something download Sandboxie and run your downloads in it first, that way it can't get to your main files. I use Sandboxie on a lot of torrent files and other downloads, You can't always rely on scanning .exe files.

I had some trouble trying to figure this one out at first, but after reading it, I think that it's quite plausible, since all over the course of computer history, there were viruses that would launch on a specified date (Friday the 13th, Christmas, etc).

The thing is, I'm quite amused that you're more concerned with prank-type viruses instead of more dangerous ones, but I guess each person has their own worries.

@korg, you sure know some neat apps we can use.

This is a very good solution, but if you are going to scan things instead, I suggest that you scan things after it's unzipped etc and most of the anti-virus programs will easily pick up known viruses.

Maybe that's why korg wrote you can't rely on scanning .EXE files. You get the .exe or installer after you unzip or unrar, etc.

It was a general tip.

Meh, I find it funny myself, but I've always hated more than anything when your trying to focus on something, just to realize it was all a prank when a face pops up and screams really loud especially since I have surround sound listening to some good music connected to the computer as loud as it can go lol.

Btw korg thank you o.o never even heard of sandboxie till now, though got good idea what it does. I'm going to download this immediately.

It seems that sandboxie won't necessarily help because if its's scheduled to go off in, say, a week, then it will run fine in sandboxie, but once you put it on your hard drive...

Any virus scanner should pick up this type of program.
Here are some nice examples of the kinda shit you're so paranoid about:

Enjoy.

Ahah. Moshbat always knows what to do. The thing is, I'm kinda sad with the decline of prank-type viruses, since most of them are more concerned of bringing hell on earth or to steal money.
