Hello again HBH community (i know i ask alot of questions) anyway I was browsing through the tutorial section on the articles and found the Hydra article http://www.hellboundhackers.org/articles/621-Hydra:-Brute-Forcing-Passwords-(Dictionary-Attacks).html]here

In the beginning of the article he says to simply download it, run it, install it and i downloaded it here http://www.thc.or. . . i downloaded the top link and the link at the bottom number (2).

The one at the top of the page has no executable at all in any of the files and the number 2 download had exe but they were the cmd kind, im assuming like the ones with john the ripper uses.

So there is no way to install this then? Am i missing the download link? In the link i specified for hydra the screenshots show the program and thats what i want.

So i found brutus also, which is a program which seems to be like hydra and i was wondering if any of you have used brutus and would say its just as good as hydra or recommend brutus for dictionary attacks.

Thanks for any replies, please pm me if you want to help me out thanks bye.

You don't "install" Hydra as such, you simply download the executables, and run them from a command line

or, you could read my article about accessdiver and download that.

Pfft

but seriously, if you can't find and set up the file, you shouldn't really be using it in the first place.

remote brute-forcers are very noisy, and if you're trying to crack anything beyond a porn site, you can get nailed, don't think proxies are going to save you.

if you want one to practice on a machine you own, I would still recommend my article.
