Okay, every once in a while my computer freezes adn then blacks out.
when it comes back on there is a little icon on my taskbar that says:
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

...Wtf?
how can i fix this?

Most likely, your video card has some sort of physical damage to it, whether burn marks or popped capacitors. Have you installed the latest Forceware from Nvidia?

I searched on Google (entering the error message in quotes) and I found a whole wealth of links. What have you tried so far, and what are your specs?

take out the cover of ur casing take out the
graphic card and put it in and make it fit again
with scews if u have em ... after it is
atrached check if its properly connected to ur
mother board agp or pic e slot

right click on c driver

click check now under errror checking
click yes to the messege that appears
then restart the pc
wait till the scan disc process gets over
dont press any keys in the end the pc

i think these latest 2 patches are the solution:
esspecialy since the exact erromessage is in the description of microsoft.

Update:

Seems like the new nForce MCP drivers solved the issues. No more BSOD nor nvvdmBS...installed the 115 vista drivers and all is well!




The ones I have found seem to suggest that it is a problem with Windows Vista, more specifically those that have NVIDIA. There are drivers in the link to download, though you are also welcome to try updating your computer via Windows Update, or trying System Restore.
