hey simple question.
i have physical access to machine
system is auto-login enabled
but i cannot do any changes due to not having root priveieges

earlier it was easy
on other distribution
the passwd was in /etc/passwd ( hashed of course )

now it is not there
and /etc/shadow cannot be viewed by non-root

is there any way to gain back my machine without reinstaliing ?

< my distribution is manjaro xfce if it helps >
