Why can't we report pms? |

I'm getting sick of all these 'help me I need to do challenge x'.
This could be handled really easy just start up an account named spam or something then have the report button forward the pm to that account and delete the message on yours then alert the admins in their cp (presuming they have one).

About the PMs thing, the one who sends you a message trusts you, and does not want to be embarrassed. So I suggest you either delete, or help then give him a piece of advice.

I don't see the big deal here, if someone is bothering you or spamming tell them off or just don't reply. This can be handled on your own.
Though it is part of the dev. it's not high on the list.

Is there an ignore option? That would be easy to impliment ( I think) and solve everyones problem.

I really don't see why one should report others for asking for help with a challenge. We're a community, we're supposed to help eachother if we can and have the time, there's a whole subforum for that very purpose. Sure it's too bad that they can't just read through some old threads and get it themselves, but if you're not in the mood to help someone, then just delete the PM, as has been said.
I can understand reporting someone who spams you with a bunch of stupid shit, but for asking for challenge help? If you're that hellbent on being unhelpful to someone I'm sure you'd have much more fun with giving them bad advice or something like that, I'm sure you'll think of something.

I ignore people all the time. Now, either I'm just plain awesome (quite possible), or there is no need for a special 'ignore' function. As far as reporting people, how hard is it to just send korg or system a pm? Ta-da, solved. You're welcome.

How so? Let's assume there is a 'report' option. In order for it to be effective, you need to send a message along with it saying what problem you have with the person your're reporting. If you have to do that anyway, that's what, 10 seconds less effort than typing "korg" into the 'to' field (I'm assuming you're a slow typer).

I'm with ynori on this bit, it's probably easier to just ignore them.
The majority of them either give up, or find it by other means eventually anyway.
On the other hand, a system where they could be reported and if they were reported x amount of times, they couldn't send a PM for y amount of hours. If nothing else, it would help slightly prevent spammers. |
