Because it's a discussion about possible advancement of the current site? I don't understand why, if you didn't care about this thread, you persisted to post in it.

@Folk Theory - Yes, but it's too nitpicky. An article will not be accepted if there are several spelling and grammatical errors, this is stated in the rules. But, to have people go into the articles and fix these errors takes too much time & energy that could be better used elsewhere.

@THK-Geo - Not by setting it up, but by modification. In order to know where to put your new feature, you have to understand what the code is doing. You might not learn sql from it, but you won't learn nothing from the experience.

its true the rules say that; but we all know that loads of articles with horrible mistakes have been accepted. all those mistakes could be corrected by a couple of volunteers with enough time on their hands. true, it would take time but so what? there's a lot of people here willing to take a part in this...

Or maybe somebody should take some time and write up a small program that changes 1337 sp34k into normal words. Sure we can't correct all of the structure in the paragraphs, but if we at least take out some of the 1337 speak then it might not be that bad to go into the article sections. I would work on something like this, but seeing as I'm working on finals right now and my coding skills are not up to date (...Lazy...), somebody else might work on it. Heck, maybe make it a competition. Just saying, not everything has to be about adding mods and having people read stuff over. That's one of the best parts of technology. And considering some people want more competitions it would be fixing two problems.

I don't know... just some more thoughts. Enjoy...? :D

You would learn twice as much from making your own CMS right? Besides, phpfusion looks ugly :D (No offense HBH admins)

Because we are of the same opinion, next time you want to ask a question google it first! I want to see the name of the 5 line in the 3rd result and the link to the google results page before I answer you're next question I was generous this time.

Fine, then call me a hypocrit, call me numbnuts (how mature is that :p ) If that makes you feel better, good for you.
I don't really care.

All I'm trying to say is that these are facts, there are tons of things that annoy many people on this board but there isn't really much you can do; there will always be people who act different then we think they should. Whining about it doesn't make any difference..

Well, if constructive criticism (aka "whining :whoa: ) doesn't make a difference, what does?

I've heard some good ideas to improve the community in this thread, call it whining or call it being helpful.

Why are there so many people without an opinion of their own, and copycat (the respected) other users?

Well, why? WHY?!

Can we get back to the topic please? At least the direction we were heading a little while ago.

I think it would be great to code a program that translates Leet into "normal". If we were to do this, other sites would latch onto it quickly.

As for proof readers, I'm game. Until I get deployed, I have time to spare.

We do need to be proactive though.

I dont agree with this, because I wouldn't want to read anything that was from the beggining leetspeak anyway, since it would only be something like "I will hack you im the leet" Instead of "4j w1ll h4Xx0r j00 1m t3h 1337!!!one1!", see what i mean? This leetspeak usually doesnt translate to anything that makes sence and I don't think these people will stop using leetspeak because of a word filter on HBH

What does maturity have to do with this? I'm 15, who gives a fuck if I act immature sometimes, I'm meant to, get over it. And what do you mean "if that makes you feel better", it doesn't have anything to do with that, it was to do with you making a hypocritical post saying how we all don't have lives if we post in here, or some bullshit like that, yet you posted. Jeez.

Why, why do I create a thread with questions, and the result of those questions is a locked thread?

Can we stay on top-, why can't we stay on topic?

spyware: I had nothing against the thread or the qurstions it asked. but the thread had wandered so far away it was totally pointless. Personally i found about 1/3 of these posts to be really good reading.

Everyone: Stay on topic dammit!

The question I asked wasn't pointed at specially at you, it was a question for everyone who posted/views this thread, a question to HBH.

Aight people, keep the rants coming. Problems only lead to answers.

So post your problem, so we can post an answer.
