I think that people with warn levels should be punished in more ways than having a warn level on their account.
Do not take this the wrong way or anything I just had a thought  No need to pay any attention to it.
But how about users loose a percentage of their points with each warn level they get?
EG// user with 10 warn level gets a 2% penalty against his points, a user with 50 warn level gets a 25% penalty and a user with 99 warn level gets a 80% penalty.
I could work out a more solid structure but I think this would be decent.
What do you all think?

that's cool, but i think 80% is a little steep :S and these points should be recoverable in some way later...

Or warn level is the percent of the current points deducted.
Ie 50 warn level = deduct half points
Good thinking - This will stop spammers like myself xD |

I agree that the warn level is ineffective in most case's, and i like the idea but this idea would require either some one working out the amount of points to be taken if you work on %'s or some one will have to write a scblockedript. To work out a % of there points, which may be a bit too time consuming.

I think this is a terrible idea for example.
I am chatting to you on msn now and you have informed me that I need to make posts to get to the next level. for this might be classed as spamming and I might get an unintentional warn level!
when infact I am trying to make valid, helpfull posts!
I hope this makes sense

lol. I was saying if you make 300 posts of bullshit that you would get a warn level. i said it jokingly and you know that. ohh and nanoy you do not have a lot to worry about

I agree because alot of people who abuse this site think points are are away of showing how macho they are they might also think being warned makes them a rebel. Point deduction will make them think twice!

currently im the only admin with the power to give warn levels. i only raise the warn level, if they make a post like "where can i download a trojan!!" / "where do i get neopets haxs?" etc, or they spam abusive language or flame to much etc. Im not gonna give someone a warn level for several useful forum posts!!!

11-20 - 5%
21-30 - 8%
31-40 - 13%
41-50 - 18%
51-60 - 23%
61-70 - 30%
71-80 - 45%
81-90 - 65%
91-99 - 85%
100 - BAN

Perhaps make Warn level like a prison sentence. After a period of time (depending on the saverity of the warn) the warn will reduce. Just a thought.

I like the idea but more than often omeone who does this is a noob ended skiddy that doesnt have any points, or just needs taught a lesson and is fine after that. I think the suggetsions of taking so many points has a very steep gradient.

I dont like this idea. i'm sure that we had somethign along these lines before. I dont think that deducting points is good unless their is some way to get them points back after time. Spamming etc isn't that much of a problem right now to warrent such a scheme. Also if i'm not mistaken the user gets banned if there warning reaches 100% so that is enough of a deterent.

Its an ok idea, but i don't really like it. Whether a person spams or not, they've still (hopefully) earned the points by working through the challenges. Besides, most of the "te4ch m3 2 hax0r" and "can someone tell me the answer to..." threads are mostly made my peeple who have 0-5 points.
I think punishments for spamming, etc, should have a punishment, but not one involving points. Like I said, its a good idea, but I wouldn't like to see it go into practice.
