I have this laptop (mentioned here ^^) and cannot get the wifi to work. i have hours into this and cannot get anywhere. Yes i'm new to ubuntu but i have hours of searching behind me.

Debugging is what programmers do to beta software to make it take up more room on your hard drive if it is running too efficiently.

Have you tried using madwifi? http://madwifi.org/

(I noticed those laptops use an Atheros based wireless card, you should double check that though)

as i said, i have done hours of searching. that means of course i tried google. This is HBH and you can expect a flame if it were that easy.
