Okay I've got two ideas for hbh!
1st idea) The articles area, is FULL of repeated stuff and stuff that is irrelivent etc etc. SO I think, perhaps once a year? or every six months, admins should delete articles that are :
Irrelivent
Bad ratio of good/bad review/ratings
etc.
eh?
2nd idea) Hokay, people are always asking "Heyy Admins? What challenges are down eh?" ... WELL .. Why not add a page to the navigation that tells us what challs are down? and is updated when they are fixed Simple?
Cheers
Dotti.

I like the Down challenge page...... Not sure about the deleting articles / Forum posts as i have found some of the most helpful the older ones.
Nice Challenge idea tho

I think the Challenge down page idea is great.
There are problems regarding the "bad" articles tho,
1) someone could make many sock puppets (aka clones) and bad rate an article into deletion.
2) Whats helpful to one person may not be helpful to another, all our mind work differently
One question makes and stops progress,
What if?

I believe that almost every article has something good in it.
Shit articles get deleted.
So I wouldn't do the thing with deleting articles.

Articles, well, I guess the many people do have a point. But the articles should be scrutinized to see if there are any that are plain useless.
They are scrutinized... that's why bad articles *usually* don't make it. Removing bad articles shouldn't be based solely upon bad ratings... someone could potentially bad-rate a person's articles into oblivion. A better method would simply be to remove articles that are "not articles", spam, or blatant plagiarism... which is probably already the policy, anyways.
I still check PMs from time to time.

Yeahh... I agree with the down challenges page... but for challenges, I've also found that there are like 4 on the exact same thing... but in reading them, on usually helps on one thing more and the other on another thing... so I think they should be kept unless they're completely useless or spam.

I think that the forum post should be grouped by challenge. This would avoid searching the forum, activity known to be difficult to first-approachers other than slowing down researches.
The search results returns a link to every post which matchs, which is good for something but not for searching for challenges' names.

They already saw this and I'm very sure these ideas aren't new.

would you like us to read it to you too?
what's the problem with clicking through a few pages
on the topic of articles. we do moderate them... we dont let short/shitty ones through. we actually reject like 5 out of 6 submitted articles or so. yes, some of the ones that are out there are possibly not great... if you find one you really dont like, pm an admin... how about that?
admins have ALOT of other work to do and members have been complaining about this for a while... so, if you find one you dont like, me me with it and the reason why you think it should be deleted... if i agree. i will take care of it.... problem solvedQ

@spyware.. world peace is a crap idea... If we truly had world peace... we would overpopulate and everyone would die. (inevitable i know but at least for now we're 'trying' to keep it in check.)

humans die at a quick enough rate without laying a finger on each other, don't worry. overpopulation is a load of shit. we'll outsource to the moon soon enough. |

yea but we're growing at a rate of like 2% each year, even with all our wars and famines.. if you get rid of the war part then that's sure to go up a little bit.. If we continue to increase at a rate of 2% each year then we would cover the entire surface of the earth within the next 800 years(law of exponential growth). If we were to take away one of the factors contributing to human death.. then our remaining time would decrease exponentially.

Very true.
All held the finite and infinite as unrelated. None could foresee that the history of the two would become one. |

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing. This topic should be debated elsewhere.
