When I click on "My Profile" i can see on "Challenges" section, at the bottom, "Programming"
Is that because there will be new "Programming" challenges? I mean something like
"Design an application that does this:....................."

That would be great, maybe it could be something like a contest.

No, that's because there have been 'challenges' like that in the past. See for example system_meltdown's profile. I doubt there will be any contest like that in the near future. I think the most recent one was the PHP optimization competition. Had to look it up, but that was April/May 2009...

The "Programming" section is for giving credit to those who create challenges, as well. As for them not happening very often, there was a Python Optimization competition not too far back.
