hi people, im just posting this thread with some changes id like to see and some questions
anyway i think we should encourage more irc lectures as it would be a great way for mentoring people, and it depending on the quality of the lecture be a way to get community points.
I was thinking if you had an official lecture area for threads and people say the channel and time that the lecture starts, the topic, how long its likely to last and other info.
you could post the lecture once you've done it and if its of decent quality, lock and pin it so all can see what was said.
please post on what people think for encouraging more irc lectures
does anyone know whats happening with the hellboundlinux?? as it seems to have died down and i havnt seen any threads on it active for a while.
would it be possible to have the swear filter optional?? so if some people dont mind seeing swr words they canc hoose to see it and if others dont then they can choose not to. i dont think that would be hugely difficult to do but the admins tend to be quite busy so maybe its an idea for someone to code to get some more points.

i'm happy to do some lectures on python if people will show up.
and yes Hacker. (hellboundlinux) is still in teh werx. i spoke to SANTA (in person! WEWT!) and it's still happeneing.

yeah, irc lectures would be awesome...IF they are at a reasonable time. hbh is global so time zones would be a bit annoying. maybe someone could get a bot to repeat it at a different time? or paste it into a forum topic or something.

that sounds good.
also maybe a thread subscblockedription thing where you recieve email updates on threads you have started/subscribed to.

Ok, well, I'm going to do a lecture on python,
irc.rmachine.net / #python.
Not sure when yet.
As a bonus, at the end of the lecture i'm going to connect a irc bot coded in python ( not pyBot the current one, a fresh one just for this) and link to the source, to let you all have a play and a real time demo of some advanced python concepts.
Also I'm thinking that the hbh newsletter needs reviving, will speak to the other admins about the idea..... now.
edit: You can generally find me on the irc for random python questions anyway.

yeah but a official python lecture would be cool.
We should also have lectures on other subjects. Richo can be the python guy.
If anyone wants to do a lecture on any subject then post here.
