Does anyone else find anything wrong with images in people's signatures being about 8 or 10 times are tall as their average post? I do.

To be honest, it does and always had made the forums somewhat of a chore to dig through.

Some simple CSS could cut off excessively large signatures, but maybe some moderation would be better suited if there is some agreement on the subject.

Like mine? No images but there is extra space.

Signatures are what the name implies; the obsession with images in signatures began as soon as everyone could use Photoshop and follow a few tutorials. There is definitely some good art around, but displaying something several hundred pixels tall in your signature line (where its posted usually hundred times) is a little unnecessary.

Yeah, it's not like people have anything faster than dial-up and drives larger than 30GB... sure.


I say if you have it, use it. However, I do become annoyed by repeated posting of giant sigs; That's what the "Show My Signature..." checkbox is for, though people don't properly use it. I say anything over about 400px is just too big, but I don't see a problem with the medium ones (300, maybe 350 max), except when you have about 10 NON-animated userbars... just make an animated one!

You've got a point. Oh, and good luck on your war against disinformation; too many people confuse facts with opinions and trends...
