I actually think that this has been suggested before. Many times. Regardless, I still think it's a swell idea and will see if I can get someone to implement it. Just don't hold your breath because that's never a good idea.

Yeah I think this had been suggested even when Zephyr was still here
Anyway I like all of the ideas, but as long as the forums is as active as it is now, I don't see any real point in doing some major development work, unless there is nothing better to do

Perhaps adding new "features" will be what HBH needs to get more activity...ohh and perhaps getting real users back like netfish, Zephyr, slimtim, perhaps the REAL SkareCrow...just a suggestion

Yes, this is a great idea and it'd be very useful for many of us. I believe the first time I requested this was like one or two years ago but still nothing has happened... I've almost stopped believing that HBH can actually evolve and not just add a few challenges every now and then

I'd say it would be better to just have links to the threads to keep the messiness down. New tab or not doesn't really matter to me. I always scroll click on the thread links anyway.
