On alot of other forums, i've noticed they have an awesome feature called a quick reply box. Basically, its a button on the end of the page near the reply button box that you can press to have the reply box drop down onto the end on the forum. So, basically, it avoids having to leave the forum window (or open a new ta to reply to a message.
Would this be possible to implement into hbh?

No, please. Everything but quick reply.

Quick means hasty.
Hasty words come from hasty thoughts.
That's why.

I see. Hmmmm, i guess it wouldn't be a great idea then if we would be getting writers who didnt think before they wrote. However, its not *really* a *quick* reply, its just move convenient than leaving the page.
EDIT: okay, that didn't make full sense. Bascially, im just saying that I, personally, wouldn't be going post crazy over it, and I dont think others would, either

Usually I would agree with what spy said, but I don't think 2 seconds will have much impact.

I agree. That loading give me time to decide whether or not my comment is worth saying. Often times I decide not and just close the tab (something more people ought to do...).

You'd be surprised how much a human being can change when his means to do something change.
Want to try it out for yourself? Try to limit your bandwidth usage to 10mb per day. What sites would you visit? What posts would you make?

I think it'd be a good feature, or even a box that's already there at the bottom of the page.. I don't see why it would be too difficult, either.. as it would basically mean coppying the current "Reply" page [post.php] form to the page that the forum threads are generated by.. obviously not quite that simple though.
And to the 'quick reply is bad' thing..
[can't think of a better way to put this..]
it's a... quick (reply box)
not a.. (quick reply) box
If you don't get that, think of using brackets in maths, although I imagine it's pretty straight forward.
Being that most people get hastily made responses and flames anyway, I don't think it'd matter much anyway.

Most of the time during summer my internet sucks, so I usually only post when I've got something useful to say.

Simply put all forums that I have seen with quick reply boxes have major issues with unqualified or spammy posts with little or no significant meaning. If you are to lazy to wait for your page to load to for a reply, then odds are your opinion will be lazy as well.
Quick replies have there place and their uses, forums after pure post count will benefit out of such tactics. A intellectual forum of any level would be best proceed without a quick reply.
If you indeed require a quick reply so bad, why not code one yourself in greasemonkey? Should not be to complicated.

I was just trying to make a helpful suggestion to the community. While I would perfer one, I do see your's and spyware's point of view, so I'm not going to really push for it or anything.
I just thought it might be cool to mention it and let the community handle it how they please.

Like I said, invent one for your own personal use with greasemonkey then append it to some html element after a thread.
EDIT: Typo fixed.

Why does your internet suck only during the summer? That sounds like a major issue .

This has been a great debate, and while I would find a quick reply box nice, I must agree with those who say nay. I conclude that on this forum with the people we have having one would take away those necessary 2 seconds to think.
