I'm just about to learn about programming and after looking about abit, I decided to start with Python. And have a looky at Perl too.

I know you have to set the environment variables Path, my path is:

c:\Perl\bin;d:\Perl\bin;%SYSTEMROOT%\system32;C:\BITWARE\;%SYSTEMROOT%;%SYSTEMROOT%\COMMAND;C:\PROGRA~1\SYMANTEC\PCANYW~1\;%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\WBEM; D:\Python24\

1. What wrong there? That where I installed it to, but it wont start from the command "python" or "python file.py" from the DOS prompt. Unless im in the install folder itself.

2. What the hell is that "BITWARE" bit? there's no such folder on my C:\

3. When i type perl at the prompt it's just blank but i can type, and return just starts a new line. Anyone?
