I was thinking about the application challenges and I thought it might be a good idea to make them Linux compatible.
I have two ideas for this.
Firstly, try port the existing challenges for Linux, this would be just a matter of recompiling most of the console-based ones, but may involve reprogramming large parts of the graphical ones.
Second idea: Have a few separate challenges for Linux, maybe a new section, this would mean that people would be able to get more points by learning more about Linux and how to use GDB and stuff

i like that idea, the only thing is, it's kinda forcing people to use linux etc if they dont run it as standard to do those challenges

Yeah but the first idea wouldn't... Would be harder to make the challenges, But then you could do them on either and get the points
Also the way it's run now forces people to use Windows, less likely to be a problem but I hate using windows and haven't used it in weeks.

I think a Windows App Cracking and a Linux App Cracking section would be pretty sweet, I'll talk with cheese and see what he thinks

Yeah if there's a free LiveCD given out on the site, with the right tools, then you can't claim to have an excuse for not doing them...
That's kinda like saying you can't do most basic/real challenges because you don't want to use CAIN or JTR

Or doing no challenge because you claim to be stupid.. and spam the shoutbox, the forums, rate all the articles "very bad", download many tools and crash your own pc and still boasting about it to your friends.

but it is suicidal for nations in the long term. - Carl Sagan Since the grid is inescapable, what were the earlier lasers about? Does the corridor have a sense of humor? - Ebert
