netcat always closes after performing a task

Hey guys, sorry to be brief. But Im running windows xp sp3 and I downloaded netcat off the official website, and when I run it, it runs a task, gives the info, but then closes 2-3 seconds after. Anyone know why?

Is it a batch version of netcat? Have you tried opening it through the command prompt?
