My friend gave me a message quite a bit ago, and I still haven't figured out her method of encryption. Here is a challenge if you want it.
15 12 12 5 8 3 8 18 9 19
9 5 16 15 20 8 9 19 19 5 11 1 20 12 15 19 7 5 18 14 1 8 20 20 8 5 18 5 8 20 15 9 4 4 12 5
21 15 25 13 21 19 20 5 4 15 3 5 4 20 8 9 19 5 20 15 21 7 20 8 1 20 19 21 2 5 5 10 15 14 3 5 4 5 20 19 15 16 15 14 7 14 15 11
23 8 5 18 5 15 6 5 14 15 4 15 5 19 20 15 14 11 14 15 23 6 15 18 5 8 20 15 14 5 20 19 21 13 14 15 20 11 1 5 16 19
23 9 20 20 7 5 14 19 5 9 14
I do not know what it says, but I'm sure one you awesome elite hackers will decrypt it.
BTW, hi HBH community! I look forward to learning!

Have you tried matching those numbers to their corresponding letters in the alphabet? (I.E. A=1, B=2 etc) and trying that? I don't have the time to do it ATM but that'd be the first place I'd start; the highest number I saw in there was 23, pretty close to 26 (the numbers of the alphabet), and it's not too unrealistic to think that y and z just weren't used in the message. I could be completely wrong, but try that first. You could even make a scblockedript to encode and decode messages with that basic encryption pretty easily. |

yea OK there is the letter substitution for the numbers
then there are some words reversed and also there are some words scrambled and some unneeded letters and clues to missing letters I hope this makes since to you
hello Chris
I hope this is not harmful here's the riddle
you must decode this enough that while once
where often one does not know for the one must
need and want

Well, good to know that, whenever anyone has simple encoding that they can't figure out, people will be here to post incessantly until there are no hints and all handouts left.
I'd lock this, except I'm hoping that someone in this community sees and is appalled by this as I am.
I still check PMs from time to time.

But, but, he is looking forward to learning on HBH! Doesn't that count for something?

Oh, it counts for something. Just not enough for him to stay as a long-time member, I guarantee. =/

Oh come on, I see great potential for this kid, after all as you can see he has a sense of humour, which is a good thing to have.

Really man, this was a simple cipher that she wanted you to solve, so I hope you feel good when you tell her that you solved it, because I can almost guarantee that you not going to tell her that you couldn't do it. Oh, and zephyr, yes there is someone who shares in your disgust. I give him from 3 days to a week tops. As far as the handout, since when has that not been the case to some extent?
Debugging is what programmers do to beta software to make it take up more room on your hard drive if it is running too efficiently.

meh, whatever. It was kind of easy to figure out what was going on. If the op doesn't want to do anything, that's his/her loss.
I thought it kinda looked like homework though.
