I agree that many articles are intelligent, well written, and useful while others are poorly written and a waste time/space. I would suggest to the site admins possibly "pruning" the article section, but aren't the articles approved by the site admins before being posted? If so, then perhaps they already meet the minimum quality standard.

I haven't written an article myself yet, so I can't complain too loudly.

I'm just trying to say that articles like this may be better off deleted:

http://www.hellboundhackers.org/articles/28-basic-1-and-2.html

...while this article is one of many that was worth the time it took to read:

http://www.hellboundhackers.org/articles/789-obscuring-your-url.html

uhhh... if memory serves that obscuring your url one was incomplete and lacking....

If you want to see GOOD articles, go read netfish's stuff.

Now there's a guy who knows what the fuck he's talking about.

Richo, I am not saying that the articles I chose as my examples were indicative of the best and worst articles on the site. I felt that one article had value, and added something to HBH, while the other was detrimental to the community.

Sure, Futility's article might have had more information, but it was still a good article on a subject that I hadn't seen previously covered in an HBH article. The punctuation, spelling, and grammar were much better than many articles on HBH, resulting in improved readability. This contributes to the HBH community even if an article only provokes someone to write a more complete or more thorough article on the same subject.

The point I was trying to make was perhaps the minimum standard required for an article to be published needs to be reevaluated.
