"With this initiative, we intend to refute the statistics of certain press organizations that ensure that the use of GNU/Linux does not exceed 1% and has not advanced in recent years at the desktop.

hmm. you have to remember that in this kind of cases, polling by itself does not accurately potray the percentages of Linux usage on the desktop.
Also, the site is in spanish. I'm afraid I can't read a work of it.

In case you guys didn't know, there are already some pretty convincing statistics promoting the idea that there are far more than %1 linux users. Personally, I think it's also going to fail to actually reach 1% because of the lack of people that will see it.

oh, will you two stop making me look like an idiot. I just glanced at the page and decided not to vote it, mainly because I couldn't see the benefit behind this thing.
after all, how can linux be friendly for most home users who don't know stuff like chmod and using Wine? Most people want something that just works, they don't care about challenging themselves one bit, the same way I ride and occasionally drive a car, and I couldn't tell the difference between a carburetor from a battery to save my own life. It's because people don't want to know what's going on under the hood.
Car breaks down, go to the mechanic. Computer broken, go to the computer guy. that's everyone's attitude towards these kind of things.
