Yep, it is dying.
And why wouldn't it?
There's just too many god damn challenge communities, because they can't all get over their bullshit little "differences".
Fragmentation and speration == Blandness, similarity, and zero productivity.
Not that there was any productivity in the first place. |

Sadly, the site isnt updated regularly as it used to be but I feel this is due to limited admins and peoples spare time to do stuff. I was going to do some developing but finding adequte time is a problem and I was not able to add to HBH much, I'm sure if people are willing to code things which are useful they would make an appearance.
After all this is a community, if every one keeps giving somthing to it, it will keep growing and wouldn sadly "die".

This topic has been discussed many times before, and I'd say that HBH and HTS are the only two hacking communities I've joined that are still active.
My point is that this site isn't "dead". Perhaps most admins and other users have just been busy during the holidays

I suppose we will soon see if it starts to pick up again soon.
I would als add EG to that list of sites, I know they can be pretty lame but they have alot of active user's.

Why don't you complete all the current challenges before whining about the lack of new ones

Shame, double post, lol
Maybe some people like to see the site is "running".
Thus, they won't reach a level, then stop, because they don't see the site "more smarter than them" (in solving challenges).
PS: I meant that only in solving challenges.

Maybe we should look out for some new admins? Or give extra privileges to active members so they can contribute easier?

That's like telling someone to eat everything at a buffet before they ask for some new items on the menu.
Not everyone is going to like everything. Certain areas (specifically reverse engineering and encryption) require specialized knowledge that might not be in everyone's interests.
It can go the other way too: if I'm interested in reverse engineering, then why would I bother myself with learning about web security? No professional is a "master" at every computer discipline, but rather, specialized in one or few areas.

I think that is actually a good idea... when supported through active use of the "Projects" forum. For the people who want to see new features, say more than just "more challenges, more content, more, more, more!". Say what you would like to see and how you'd like to see it; then, it's up to the admins to support the inclusion of more contributors to handle such ideas.
I still check PMs from time to time.

Or actually, there are many ways...
Increasing the timed/programming challenges, to make it include some missions with images analyzing, and make a REAL timed challenges.
Like the challenge for a week, and the winner who makes a scblockedript that ----.
Or return that "user groups" thing, or or or......

That would definately be great it's always more satisfying when you have to code something in order to complete a challenge...

It's not the rank. It your name and your actions/threads/words I link to that name.
Have a good day.
